Founded in 1967, we bring over 50 years of earthwork experience across Utah, Nevada, and California.
Our History
Gilbert Development Corp was founded by Steve Gilbert as a Nevada corporation and is now headquartered in Hurricane, Utah. For over five decades, we have specialized in high-volume earthwork, infrastructure, mining, and industrial projects across the Western United States. Early projects included road grading for Iron County and site preparation for Cedar City's industrial corridor.
With an average project value exceeding $5 million, we have built a reputation for taking on demanding, high-stakes work and delivering results. Our portfolio spans airports, roadways, commercial and industrial facilities, residential developments, hospitals, correctional facilities, subdivisions, dams, and mining operations.
By the 1990s, the company had expanded into residential subdivision work across Washington County, laying the groundwork for communities that now house thousands of Southern Utah families. Our depth of experience across such a wide range of project types gives us the versatility and expertise to handle virtually any heavy civil construction challenge.

Our Facilities
Our 40-acre Gilbert Industrial Court in Hurricane, Utah serves as the operational hub for all projects. The campus includes a 15,000 square-foot corporate office, over 40,000 square feet of shop and maintenance space for our heavy equipment fleet, and more than 30 acres of yard space for equipment staging, material storage, and aggregate stockpiling. This centralized facility allows us to mobilize crews and equipment quickly to job sites across Southern Utah and beyond.
