Black Ridge Master-Planned Community

1,700+ home master-planned community in Hurricane, Utah

Project Overview

Gilbert Development Corp manages mass grading and essential infrastructure for Black Ridge, one of the largest active residential developments in Southern Utah. Located near the Sand Hollow corridor in Hurricane, this master-planned community represents a major milestone in the region's growth.

With over 1,700 homes planned, Black Ridge will feature a mix of luxury townhomes and single-family residences, along with significant commercial space to serve the growing community. The development includes a 100-acre open space network designed to preserve the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.

The scale of earthwork at Black Ridge is substantial, involving over 2 million cubic yards of earthmoving to prepare the site for development. The site sits on basalt cap rock and red desert sand typical of the Hurricane Mesa area, requiring drill-and-blast work before grading could begin. Infrastructure is managed through the Black Ridge Infrastructure Financing District, ensuring long-term planning and sustainable growth.

The master developers, Wasatch Residential Services and KW Ascend, selected Gilbert Development Corp for this signature project based on our decades of experience executing high-volume earthwork and infrastructure across Southern Utah.
